Colcom Foods is a long established and renowned brand name in Zimbabwe and in regional export markets, synonymous with quality and hygiene.
The quality chain incorporates strict veterinary standards and controls from on-farm pig production through to its export-rated factory facilities and distribution.
Quality production
On-farm production is led by Colcom's own world class state of the art unit, Triple C Pigs. With its 2200 sow breeding herd, the unit is operated under stringent bio-security and utilizes the latest genetics and management techniques.
They and other producers who also supply Colcom Foods all have to meet rigorous veterinary and animal welfare requirements for accreditation as Zimbabwe Quality Assured Pork (ZQAP) export rated producers.
In-factory production is subject to numerous wide-ranging international and local standards and by-laws governing food processing facilities, procedures and staff.
Delicious products
Colcom Foods pig based products include a comprehensive range of fresh pork, hams, bacons, fresh and cooked sausages, fresh pies, cooked cold meats, polonies and canned meats. Most incorporate a wide variety and different sizes of products. These are sold principally under the Colcom brand, but the company also manufactures and sells specialised delicatessen style products under the Danmeats and Oscars labels, Greenacres for tinned vegetables, and Butchers Best for beef products from a joint venture company, Associated Meat Products. This website also includes many recipes designed to help consumers obtain value added enjoyment of Colcom's products.
Colcom Holdings Group
Colcom Foods is part of the Colcom Holdings group, which incorporates an inter-related group of Strategic Business Units, joint ventures and an associate company, Freddy Hirsch. Pigs have been and continue as the group's core business.
Colcom Holdings is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange and is part of the Innscor Africa group, which is also listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.
